Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project in Western Nepal Phase II

Finland continues to support improved water supply and sanitation due to Nepal’s strong commitment to this sector, remarkable previously achieved results and the significant impact this sector has on the livelihoods of women and children. Finland is one of the most prominent donors in rural WASH in Nepal and has been instrumental in strengthening coordination in the sector. Previous results are now being consolidated and expanded towards addressing rural livelihoods broadly, including irrigation and market access. Finnish support is channelled through bilateral programmes in Western Nepal (RVWRMP 15 million euros, RWSSP-WN 13.7 million euros) and UNICEF’s WASH Earthquake Recovery Programme (2 million euros).
